Calf Creek Falls

This weekend we went to central Utah and hiked in Calf Creek. The hike is just past Boulder, Utah and has some of Utah's most beautiful waterfalls. Preston and I drove down together, however the camping site was full so we drove back to Capitol Reef where we met up with the Howes and some of our own family where we spent the night in a beautiful cabin of a friend of ours.

These are some of the pictures from the drive. It was a lot more exciting than driving the freeway.
Preston and I stopped an...interesting place to eat for dinner in Boulder and Preston really grew fond of their reading material.
That night's full moon.
Campfire with the Howe's and Jordan's face getting burned.
The upper falls.

The hiking group. Adam, Jessie, Chad, Abbi, Jon, Caytee and Preston.
Brother and sister in front of the falls!
Just above the falls about 100 feet, there was a small pool that you could go cliff jumping into. The four boys proceeded to...and about froze to death.

Then we hiked to the lower falls which were gorgeous. The hike was through an old Indian village and had a lot of neat markers along the trail showing us old granaries that they used and old pictographs that were left behind. It was a lot of fun!

What a fun weekend and a beautiful time to get outside and hike.

I loved that place. We would always go on the rocks like a waterslide, it looks a little lower than I remember...or I might be bigger than I was then.
