Published

It's here finally! Presenting my very first published book. This is a compilation of all my Grandpa's Letters when he was my age. There are letters from Hawaii when his dad served as a Mission President there. He tells of his experience when Pearl Harbor was bombed and what he remembers. The rest of the letters are while he was serving in World War II.

Here is a copy of the first book we printed. It is 241 pages and has a CD included in the back with all the scanned copies of the letters, comics, and articles, including Hawaii. There are also pictures, postcards, comics, tithing slips, etc. throughout the entire book.

(For some reason, the printer printed a big black box around all the pictures, so that is why this first book is our "rough draft" as we sort out any changes that need to be made.)
Here are some pictures of some of the pages inside. During the war, there are letters included that are written back from his father giving him advice and telling him of what is going on back home. He also has letters he had written to his bishop, siblings, mother, and grandparents.
(This is what it is supposed to look like.)
And here are just a few examples of some of the pages from my .pdf file.

I can honestly say that I will probably take a break from typing for awhile, but I am so glad that this project was done. I learned so much from his experiences and gained a greater love for a man that I can didn't get to spend nearly enough time with.
Pretty neat huh? I think I might move on to children's books next time. Ü
