Carl's Baby Blessing

Carl was blessed on April 25, 2010. We warned the bishop that we may have a decent sized crowd at the chapel, but I don't think he took me seriously until he asked the congregation to scoot together closer for the fifth time. Oh well. All went well and Carl is officially named (and the name that we agreed on, I might add). Afterwards, everyone came to the house and we had a little luncheon. It was great to see my family, Preston's family, and our friends all gathered together in celebration of our new little babe. He sure is a lucky one!

These are some of our friends that came to support us.
Daddy and son. Notice: Carl changed into his comfy clothes before his Dad did. That's what you get when you poop through your blessing outfit.
This is the candy machine that Preston got for me for my college graduation. Preston has it set so the kids don't even have to pay for candy...IT'S FREE! And Carson will take FULL advantage of that. Even the ones that the other kids left behind.
Beautiful Grandma and Grandpa Wankier.
Dale, Grandma Martin, and Dad. Yep, too bad you can't see the blessing outfit...because that was the last of it that day. You would have thought that a good mom would have at least taken a picture of her babe IN his blessing outfit....NOPE!
LeAnn, Adam, Emily, Hannah, Hailey and Katelyn.
And the crowds came in. You can always count on a crowd when you promise food, right?
Well...here is his blessing outfit BEFORE he had it on. Grandma Martin made the gorgeous afghan and Grandma Wankier and the Wankier extended family picked out the outfit.
The day was wonderful. Carl was so fortunate to receive a blessing from his earthly father who loves him so dearly. I couldn't help but let a few tears drop (still hormonal of course). We are so fortunate to have him in our family.

Carl, we love you so much and are blessed to have your sweet spirit in our home. Today you received your baby blessing, all dressed in white and received your name from your earthly parents. But I want you to remember that you will always have your Heavenly Father's blessing and love upon you while you are here on earth. He loves you so much too and will watch over and protect you! May you always be a shining light to those around you. Remember how fortunate you are to be blessed to such a loving and supportive family.

We didn't take any pictures of just May in her outfit either and I didn't realize it until she was too big to fit in it. Make sure you get some they grow fast :)
