Newborn's day: Sleep, eat, poop, pee, spit up, sleep, eat, pee, poop, spit up
Newborn's mother's day: Wake up to screaming baby at unsightly hours, feed baby half awake, make breakfast, do the dishes, calm down baby, do the laundry, oh wait...baby's crying again, do the laundry, check on baby, sit down to pay hospital bills, take shower, come out to baby screaming in crib, feed baby, burp baby, spit up all over new clothes...oh well, rock baby back to sleep, what's on my hand?, change baby's outfit, give baby bath, rock to sleep, take picture of baby because he is just so darn cute, cook dinner, play with baby until he's hungry again, feed, burp, get ready for the day even though it's 8:00pm, family time centered around...you know who, get ready for bed, feed baby, burp, lay him down in crib, lay down to go to sleep only to hear baby starting to wake up. If they weren't so gosh darn precious!
Can you tell who our world revolves around now? Our little Carl has made some new friends within the last month.
We asked cute little Maybear to touch Carl's hand and this is the picture that resulted. What a cutie! Carl don't get thinking about girls too early though.
I know it may look as if she is trying to read him a book, but it was actually a near-miss from the book and Carl's head. Ü And the friendship begins.
Meet Jack Hughes. Jack is exactly one month older than Carl, even though it may not look like it. Here is one of their first pictures together, where Jack is holding Carl.
Just a slight difference. Don't worry Carl, Jack can be your body guard when you grow up. Make sure to be nice to him.
I couldn't resist.
Nor this. Daddy/Son nap time.
This is Carl's Great-Grandma Colleen Martin. She made his afghan for his blessing. We sure do love her.
Easter came and went and sad to say...we didn't do too much. We had good intentions of getting Carl an Easter basket with lots of chocolate and many stuff (ie mini squirt guns, plastic fishing pole, and an outfit that said something besides "Mommy's new man). However, all the candy at the store looked gross, and the easter baskets were overpriced. Oh well. But, my mom totally pulled through for us. My family always got socks for Easter. Random, I know, but she rolled them up like eggs and put goodies in them with our name. So, here are one of the pairs of socks for Carl. Thanks Mom!
Here is Carl's first official walk. He did great, until about halfway through. Then, he started screaming and we began booking it home. Let's be honest, the walk was more for me than anything.
He sure is a good kid. I wish I could take a picture of all his funny faces. They melt my heart. Especially, his new little grin that is starting to pop out. We sure love you Carl.

oohhh! he is so cute! my bubs is 6 months old and our schedule still sounds a lot like yours... :) That is encouraging isn't it? oh wait. Throw in two rambunctious girls too :) hee hee. But you love it because you love them. Keep on truckin.
Ha you are never going to invite us over again since my daughter likes to drop things on Carls head. He is such a cute little boy. We sure love your little family!
Aw! So cute! Loved the daily recap. Looks like fun!
So, so cute! We love that little guy and you guys. Taking care of babies and children is such a sacrifice of time and energy...but it yields the most valuable blessings.
You forgot about the "spew!" Oh wait, you just worded it differently ;-)! Can't wait to come visit again. Love that little guy. See you on Sunday (and maybe sooner!)
XOXO
Awesome entry about your day-by-day, Caytee! It's nice to take note of it because it changes sooner than you think and it will just be a memory. Aren't we lucky to be at home with these little spirits. I love it!
That picture of Carl with the BYU hat sucking his thumb reminds me a lot of his dad :)
