Activity Days

So in my church, we receive callings. In this capacity, we have the opportunity to serve those around us. I received the calling to work with the 11-year-old girls in what's called Activity Days. Basically we meet a couple times a month and do different activities (thus the very creative name!) I love it! The girls are darling and we have a lot of fun together. So, to start off the year right, I sent out this invitation...

and we met and I gave each girl a new 1/2" binder with some of the following pages in it. A lot of the actual pages or page ideas came from here, but some of them I came up with myself. So hopefully, if any of you are in the same calling and need some ideas that are already done... Wallah! Here you go!

First, we made assignments for each of the girls to be a "hostess." I wasn't sure how this idea was going to come across to them, but once I presented it and asked for volunteers for the next week... they were all begging to be the hostess. Not to mention that it takes a lot of pressure off of me when it comes to getting invitations out and such.

A part of the program is what's called the Faith in God program. So I set up a goal sheet for the girls to take home and focus on for the next couple weeks before we have Activity Days again.

Also, the girls are supposed to write down there testimony before they turn twelve and go to the Young Women's program, so I made this nice paper that they can use to keep. I plan to give this to each girl a couple weeks before their birthday so they can fill it out and then I can laminate it and give it to them for their birthdays.

This was another insert that is a reminder of some of their gospel standards.

A binder tracker for the year.

I loved this design by Bushel and a Peck. I made these into little bookmarks and as the girls memorize their Articles of Faith, we hole-punch each number.

This is another little tracker for their Faith in God that I used from A Bushel and a Peck.

The Articles of Faith. All 13 of them.

A goal sheet for the new year.

And last but not least, I challenged all the girls to read the Book of Mormon this year together with me. This is a list of where we should be at before each activity. I gave each of the girls a little copy of the Book of Mormon and told them that if they accepted the challenge, then they were to write their name in the inside cover. They were so excited! They asked, "Can we read ahead?"
After we went over the binders and what our plans were for the year, we decorated our binders with scrapbook paper and took pictures of each of the girls that we are going to put on the front of their binders. So fun!
I sure am excited to get to know these girls better. They sure are gems!
