Random...

We took a little gander throughout D.C. after visiting the Holocaust Museum and came across a few neat places.
For instance, the Ford Theatre. History quiz. Do you remember what happened here?
President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated here on April 15, 1865.

After he was shot, he was taken directly across the street to this home where he later died.

We didn't have time to go through Ford's Theatre or the home where he died, but according to my sister, who visited recently, it was an amazing place and highly recommended.

On our walk back to our car, we stopped at the Sculpture Gardens. Do you remember when we visited them before? Such fun. Even better, this time the pool was filled with people and everyone was enjoying a nice little foot bath. Or if your name is Carl, you are enjoying a little more than that!

Splishing and splashing...

Until he (and Emily) were drenched! But it made for a happy boy!

Carl and mom.

Recently, Carl has become a "prayeraholic." Is there such a thing?
Small side note. One day, we went to say a usual prayer on our lunch, and as we looked over, Carl folded his arms and bowed his head, just like he'd seen us do several times before. We'd never taught him what to do, but he realized that that was important in our home. As a mom, this was a "Ah ha!" moment, when I realized how much my little guy was watching everything that we were doing. I need to be a little bit more on my toes.
Needless to say, now he is obsessed with praying and wants to say a prayer in the middle of a game, before he takes a nap, and as we are on a walk. So funny!

Caytee, you are the blogging master! I've missed a lot since we left three weeks ago! Carl sure is growing up into a cute little guy! I'm glad you are having such a good time there, and we can't wait for our visit!! Good luck with the last week or so.
