Thanksgiving was so great this year because we were able to spend it with Jon and Ellie! They came out to come see her parents who moved just out of DC so we were able to join them for a picture perfect Thanksgiving.
After we picked them up from BWI, we went to dinner with Ellie's family in a cool area in Baltimore called Little Italy. Mmm....
We were able to steal both Jon and Ellie for a day and we went to the American History Smithsonian (one of my personal favorites). We also went to Gravely Point and ate lunch and watched the planes take off Reagan National Airport. Carl LOVED it!
Then Thanksgiving came. Of course, Preston couldn't pass up an opportunity to play in a Turkey Bowl with our ward that morning. Carl and I were the only cheerleaders... but we did a really good job!
After Preston cleaned up and we headed over to Ellie's parents' home. Talk about a fun Thanksgiving. I enjoyed time talking with her sister's and mom in the kitchen while making rolls and eating appetizers while Preston caught up with the boys while watching a little football.
Look at what beautiful place settings. Ellie's aunt Laura and sister, Maggie did such a great job. I love the centerpiece with the large artichoke hearts and Magnolia tree leaves.
I can't even begin to describe how delicious all of the food was. I would love to add a few of their recipes to my own collection. We were all completely stuffed. Also during dinner, we went around the table and were able to express what we were grateful for (a must have tradition).
After dinner everyone cleaned up, and we sang Christmas carols and ate pie. Such a fun family!
