While my parents were here, my dad helped Preston take on a big endeavor and restain my kitchen table. We have had this table since we were married and it is SOLID. However, it was falling apart and I wanted it to have a stain that matched the rest of my house. This is an awful picture of the table BEFORE... but you can see it in the background of my flying child and my messy house!
SO... being the wonderful men that they are, they sanded the old stain off, treated the wood and restained it with a darker stain. Then, they put four coats of polyurethane on it to give it that high gloss look. You know when you wipe off your table with a wet cloth it has that beautiful shine? Well, now my table looks like that all the time and I love it! You can even see a gleam of our pictures on the wall.
Thank you Preston and Dad (even on your vacation) for finishing this project for me. One more thing to check off our "honey-do" list!
