We linked up with my dear friend, Jamee again.
She was kind enough to watch my kiddos so that we could go to the BYU Devotional that day. Apparently, Carl didn't mind too much!
I didn't either! I love this girl!
The speaker of the day... one of my personal favorites! My DAD! What are the chances that the day that he was asked to be the speaker at the BYU Devotional, was the only Tuesday that we were going to be in Utah. It really was a tender mercy. A lot of our family came and sat on the front row for the occasion. It really was so inspirational and awe-inspiring to see my dad there. Not to mention, we were able to watch him on BYUtv when we got home and have "Grandpa in our house" all the time!
That afternoon, we made the trip to the Cox cabin. What an absolutely perfect time to go to the cabin! We haven't been there for so long and the trees were just starting to change. The pictures below don't do the beauty justice. Preston and I couldn't help but try to capture it in some way!
Oh and look who we came across on our way! Carl was beyond excited...even though we woke him up from his slumber just to see them!
And the boys were able to go FISHING! Carl STILL talks about fishing at the cabin.
While he was fishing with the boys and James was taking a nap, Preston and I snuck away for a little fourwheeler ride! Yes...I think I'm cool. Just had to wipe off my shoes a bit when we got back to the cabin. Ü
I remember this moment vividly still as we came to a stop in the middle of no where, turned the fourwheelers off and just sat there. The absolute silence and the surrounding of nature was so comforting. There is something about the beauty of nature that refines the soul. We felt that time and again as we were in Utah.
Last but not least, we have Carl fishing with his Grandpa. This picture is so precious to me. I can't even use words to describe how much he loves his Grandma and Grandpa. They helped me out so much when he was first born and he has such a special bond with them. With the beauty of the lake, the trees, and the colors around them, I couldn't help but frame it and put it in my home. We love the cabin!
