For a special girl!

This is my adorable little sister in law, Hannah. She was adopted into Preston's family from China and has been a blessing to all of our lives. This cute girl was born deaf and a couple years ago, received a cochlear implant which has enabled her to communicate. However, through the years, they have shown evidence that bilateral implants are more effective than just the unilateral. Unfortunately, insurance didn't cover this extremely expensive surgery.

So my in-laws fought it for a very long time and appealed each time they were rejected. Hannah was on the news and was written about in the local paper. Many people wrote into the newspaper in defense of this priceless girl. Not too long ago, they received a phone call from their insurance that said that she would be covered. So last Monday, Hannah received her second cochlear implant!

Well, as part of this procedure, she would have to have a part of her hair shaved off (which was probably more devastating than the surgery itself to her). So, the night before... we had a little fun!

Preston and Chase decided that they would shave their heads too!

And boy...did Hannah get a hoot out of that! She kept looking at them and laughing. Exactly the response we were looking for! We love you Hannah!

P.S. After we shaved Preston's head...we found out that we have family pictures-this weekend! Oh well!
