December 18: Niels comes home

Well, Elder Wankier actually came home late on December 17 but the pictures are here today! He served an LDS mission in Sofia, Bulgaria for two years, teaching people the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are so proud of the mission that he served and excited that he is home.
The girls were really tired but they had these fun signs to welcome him home. Who knows what they say...but it's the thought that counts right?
There were a few missionaries on the plane and one by one they would come down and the crowds of family and friends would cheer. It was the ultimate Mormon experience.
You have the love the mother-son hug.
And then the crowds caved in.
We are so happy he made it home safely and Preston and I are especially excited because he will be at BYU in the winter semester. Niels, we are so proud of you and the honorable mission you served. Welcome home!
