Oh the joys of Valentine's Day. I remember in college I used to try to intentionally avoid dating someone during this time of year, because, well there are so many expectations according to our society. 1) Every girl should get flowers 2) Every girl deserved to get some chocolaty fun 3)Every guy was hoping for a goodnight kiss 4)Don't forget the oversized stuffed animal that barely fits through the door and you will only keep for a month before he gets sent to the DI 5)On top of that, you were expected to buy it all overpriced because all the stores hike up their prices during this glorious holiday season.
However, things are a little bit different when you are married. Preston is stuck with me for the rest of his Valentine's Days of his life. Poor guy. That is why we decided to skip the flowers and stuffed animals (although I wouldn't complain about the chocolate) and stick with the simple. I told Preston to avoid the hiked prices on the flowers and surprise me on another day when I'm not expecting to get them. Legit right?
So this year, we spent our Valentine's Day cheer at the IMax theater in Sandy and saw Avatar. It was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed it. Not to mention there were a couple times that I wanted to swipe the leaves in front of my face because of the 3-D effects. Whoever came up with this story line...has a lot of spare time on his hands. It was a little out there, but entertaining.
Sorry girls. He's all mine! What happened with the old school blue and red 3-D glasses?
This is a little tradition of ours (stolen from Nate and Michelle). A little rice krispie heart treat to share on V-Day. Although, I was lucky to get this picture because it was gone by the end of the day. We like rice krispie treats ok?
This year, I combined all of our dating/courtship/engagement and wedding pictures and put them together in a bound book for us. It was fun to look through all of our memories together and remember what a special time of our lives that was. I sure do love you Preston! I am so fortunate to have you in my life!
For all of your married folk out there, I hope you had a happy Valentine's Day! To all of you single friends, don't despair. It's overrated. I'd shoot for St. Patty's day instead!

The only reason I hated having a bf during Valentine's day was because I had to buy a present for HIM. and buying presents for a boy can be the worst (unless that boy is your husband). But sign me up for getting showered with gifts. Stuffed animals are what bf/gf's give each other in elementary school. or preschool, as I witnessed today. I hate stuffed animals.
You are so cute! That book is neat! Where did you have it printed?
I went to blurb.com. I really liked their layouts a lot more than a lot of your photo book places. It turned out exactly how I wanted.
