After a particularly rough day, I was moping to myself about my lack of independence and intelligent baby talk that I have picked up, using it 24/7. Don't get me wrong, my babe is a gem now-a-days, but I think we all deserve a little "ornery day" every once in awhile.
Well, I guess that I was given lots of obvious clues that I needed to buck up, because as I walked up the stairs, this newspaper article was sitting open, amongst the rest. Coincidence? I think not!

That same day, I came upon an old friend's blog who had been pregnant before she moved away. I read through her blog and found out, without too much detail, that they had lost their baby due to some health issues.
Later that day, I came upon this youtube video too, which really touched me:
I just want to say, I'm a bum. I am blessed in so many ways and I don't often take the time to recognize them. So...here are just a few things that I am grateful for:
my parents who raised me
my siblings who (let's face it in a family of six kids) helped raise me
my husband who is the most supportive person to me and my best friend
my baby Carl who is healthy and such a joy in my life
my religion which gives me faith
my education which allows me to help support our little family at this time
my home
my food and water
my freedom
my friends.
I'm not having an ornery day today, thank goodness, but I wanted to think back and remember that sometimes it's during those hard times that you learn the most important lessons.
