Carl Birthday Party

Well, my little man is one! I can't believe it. It seems like he has always been this little interactive, fun kid that has been a part of our family.

We celebrated his birthday in style in honor of BYU and watched their game against Florida (PS if you didn't know, we are kind of big March Madness fans as mentioned in the previous post). I won't talk too much about the game but if you don't know what happen, let this cake help you figure it out.

This was Carl's cake for his birthday and that little black guy in the blue jersey halfway in the cake is kind of how we felt. (That was not my doing by the way).

We got our cake at Macey's and with it came a free "First Year" birthday cake for Carl to attack.

And attack he did. The kids were so excited for him that they started whipping out the birthday song before we could even get the cake on his high chair.

But by the time it made it there, he was pretty excited! I would like to say that that was his first taste of sugar...but I would be lying.

In fact, he is quite a big fan of that great taste. Takes after his momma!

This is him devouring his cake! He even started squishing the frosting between his fingers. Mmm...

By the end, he had completely attacked that cake and was a deep blue color. We whipped him into the bath after that...he needed it.

He loved his new toys and clothes and gifts. Thanks everyone for celebrating this special time with us.

PS Sorry, no pictures, but the next day Carl had dark blue coming out both ends. Poor Preston had to deal with the blue puke and poop. Needless to say, I think we let him eat a little too much of that frosting. His little digestive system didn't seem to agree with it very well. Notes for next child.
