Our new home!

We just moved into our new apartment and it has been wonderful. It’s in a great location and fits our need perfectly. Now, we aren’t living any type of lavish lifestyle by any means, in fact, it’s really quite simple.

The main focus of our house…the basketball hoop. We had our nerf hoop set up behind an electrical outlet but after a few dunks by Carl, it kind of…got destroyed. So, we are sticking with this one which he loves all the same.

Our desk. A few electrical things, all the more interesting for Carl. Oh, and yes, our room doesn’t have a light in it, so I made Preston get something a little more “colorful” than our plastic storage containers.

Our kitchen table. I thought the tablecloth would add a nice touch. Oh and if you look real close, you will notice the nice rug underneath (thank you Pioneer Floor Coverings). Yep, it’s the rug from our trailer!

Carl’s room. That curtain in the corner is soon to go up and will hopefully allow us a few more minutes of sleep in the morning. Carl woke up this morning and saw that rug and on the children’s monitor we heard, “Ball. Ball. Ball… Ma Ma Ma.” I love it!

I know this is what you were all waiting for. Our sleeping arrangement (surrounded by our cell phone chargers, adding a nice homey feeling). Yep, my friends, two pads together with some sheets, blanket and a few pillows. And I’ll tell you what, I would much rather sleep on this than some of those hotel beds we slept in. Don’t get me wrong, I miss my bed at home, just because it’s probably the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on. However, this doesn’t fall too far behind (and I’m not just saying it). Don’t hate until you’ve tried it.
I had to save my favorite one for the end. Our couch. Top of the line, cream colored futon mattress atop the light blue containers which adds a striking resemblance to what we packed all of our stuff in. But with this nice little ottoman, we have plenty of leg room and an enjoyable view of our window.
I had to show off my favorite parts, but really we are feeling pretty great with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a beautiful kitchen, washer and dryer, and garage parking. You can’t ask for much more (not to mention there really isn’t too much to clean!) We will look back and enjoy our memories of this place. But for now, it’s our home!

Brent's Mom and Dad live in PA. They are down in the corner by Maryland. What are you guys doing back there?

Hey! We used to have a couch like that! While ours was being reupholstered, we lined up chairs and covered them with a quilt.
