Washington DC Temple

Emily and I were looking to kill some time before we headed up to go visit Adam in Baltimore, and so we made our way to the LDS Washington DC Temple. We walked through the Visitors Center and saw their latest display on the church’s service. Then we walked the grounds, which are incredibly beautiful and very well taken care of. Just recently, Preston helped pull out and plant six new trees on the temple grounds with work.
Later that week, Emily offered to watch the little man while we went out on the town. We weren’t quite sure what to do with ourselves with a night by ourselves. In fact, we later mentioned, “What did we talk about back when we dated? I’m sure we couldn’t have been this boring.” However, we made our way over to the LDS Washington DC temple to do a endowment session, which was wonderful. The temple is absolutely beautiful inside with fountains and circling staircases and chandeliers. I absolutely love it! But what temple isn’t beautiful inside?

When you are driving on one of the major freeways in D.C. the temple is above all the trees and takes you by surprise with his grandness and beauty. I guess everyone around here (that isn’t LDS and knows better), calls it the Cinderella temple, because that’s what it looks like! And it’s not just on the side of the road as you are driving; it is right smack in the middle so you can’t miss it!
What a great experience. Thank you Emily for watching Carl so we could enjoy the beauties of the temple!
