So I have had a lot of people ask me what exactly led us here to this part of the country. Well, if you remember back to the time that we told you about going to a great BYU football game with a man named George from a company named Davey. Davey offered Preston an internship for the summer and, although the company is placed nationwide and in Canada, we decided to come to the wonderful D.C. area.
Originally, they had looked at taking Preston to Michigan to work in their turf industry because of all of his experience thus far with turf. However, he opted to go to a place where he could get experience in Landscape Maintenance. He will have the chance to work on the Arlington National Cemetery this summer as well as the Andrews Air Base where the President flies in and out as well as work directly with the manager and supervisor and see what they do. Overall it will be a great experience.
Thus far, he has been thrown into the base of the work. He has planted several trees, flowers, mowed lawns, picked weeds etc. But his manager has treated us wonderfully and helped him along the way, making sure he has had a good experience.
So, if you are wondering, landscaping has brought us across the country and then back to BYU in the fall. Woohoo!
