Gas leak

The other day, I looked out my bedroom window and noticed that there were several firetrucks, police cars, and ambulances outside our house.  Uh oh!  You have to understand that we have four floors in our house and when you are on the top floor, you can't hear the doorbell.  So my first thought was, "Oh crud!  What if I was supposed to evacuate and I didn't hear my doorbell!"  Carl and I ran downstairs and soon found out that there was a large gas leak down the street.  They had evacuated all the homes UP to ours.  So, we got front row seats to watch our emergency medical servicemen and women at work.

Preston came home for lunch and said that there were about a dozen firetrucks around our house!  I guess it was pretty bad.  We watched them all get in their gear and get their equipment ready.

It definitely made for an exciting afternoon!
